Last week I shared photos of the 06AT tuner designed to sit next to your 500S / 700S / 1200S / 2020S LDMOS amplifiers.
The 04AT is basically the same ‘thing’ except it is designed to be mounted outdoors, up to 100m from the amplifier.
There are numerous advantages of mounting the automatic tuner on the antenna tower – or even in the middle of your backyard.
Better matching and lower loss are the obvious reasons. Having one dedicated feedline instead of multiple coaxes running to the shack is another reason why 04AT is a great choice. Yes, ACOM 04AT allows you to connect up to four antennas. Power handling 1500W for SWR under 1:2.5 and 1200W for SWR between 2.5 and 3.
The remote connection between the amplifier and tuner is via coax cable, no other cabling is required.
The tuner comes with an integrated lightning arrestor and bleeder resistor for protection against static discharges and automatic grounding of antennas on power down.
