LoTW busted – 3 weeks and counting…

Some say it’s a ransomware attack, others say simply a total loss of data due to a lack of maintenance.

Maybe a server issue or IT problem of some kind. Whatever it may be, it is definitely a public relations disaster.

When the Log of The World will be up and running again – remains a mystery.

Needless to say, for 60,000 users worldwide, most of them serious chasers, being let down by ARRL is rather a major inconvenience.

What we do know: the largest ham QSO online database has not been upgraded since 2018. There were no plans for a system upgrade, nor money for maintenance, nor security expertise to keep it secure.

We are watching and waiting in anticipation.

Luckily, for us who also collect paper QSL cards: business as usual.
