Since the announcement of IC-7760 release, I have been watching the hype from the side-line. It is not up to newcomers to the radio retail game to jump up. Courtesy is to let the the largest dealers announce the price first. And for rest of us – to follow and fight for breadcrumbs.
The wise and experienced have spoken: they are happy to sell the freshly released ICOM priced at $11,750 at an almost give-away price of $9,995.
This is insanity. Only a complete fool would offer a discount before even being asked for one.
Such a heavy discount is not just unnecessary, or unsustainable, but it also signals a lack of confidence that IC-7760 is worth what ICOM believes it is worth.
So what’s left for DXing? Should we follow the madman, or should we let him run the show?
Email for further details. Or, stick to your favourite dealer and ask him to match this price.
